Hi, U.P., or the Uniqueness Principle is a business model dedicated to maximizing the innovation within NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and expanding products and services for industry.

Early in 2010, Project HOPE and Guardit sat at a table wondering if mutual knowledge in each other’s entities had any value. After introductions and a review of each participant’s areas of expertise Guardit provided a presentation of our current technology.

The question was asked of what value was this to Project HOPE. Guardit asked what were the major ‘pain’ points that Project HOPE needed to solve.Project HOPE's neonatal director quickly started with Pneumonia; "it kills more infants and children worldwide than any other malady". A figure in the millions was offered.

Guardit asked, “What were the signs of an infant inflicted with pneumonia". Tachypnea, she responded. Could you show me what tachypnea looks like in an infant? She held out her hand and rapidly raised and lowered her hand in a horizontal motion to the ground as if under her hand there was a baby’s belly rapidly going up and down. Mike Script, inventor of Guardit’s Smart Object Sensor, mimicked her motion and said, “this is the type of motion our sensor detects, and we can count the breath rate and call someone and tell them what the infant’s breath rate is and potentially other diagnostic information".

From this early demonstration and collaboration Project Hope and Guardit have been establishing a relationship mutually beneficial to relieving global pneumonia. Guardit and Project HOPE didn’t stop there; we reviewed the ship-to-shore of temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals. We also reviewed the throughput of the warehouse to respond to global crisis.
